The Mark Varga Quartet is a new Vienna-based ensemble founded by guitarist Mark Varga. Featuring Sergei Demura on saxophone, Vuk Vasilic on bass, and Samuel Feimer on drums, the group presents original compositions that blend contemporary jazz with influences from rock and alternative music. At the heart of their work is the pursuit of a distinctive, personal, and modern sound.
The Valentin Edelmann Quintet is dedicated to contemporary jazz arrangements of pieces written by a diverse group of singer-songwriters from pop, rock, indie, and folk. From Kurt Cobain to Elliott Smith to Sufjan Stevens, the ensemble captures the narrative power and emotional depth of these voices and translates them into a contemporary jazz context.
