Der Begriff Faschismus ist in aller Munde. Ganz egal, ob Trump und seine "rich friends", die AfD in Deutschland oder die FPÖ in Österreich – an diesem Begriff kommt man heutzutage nicht mehr vorbei. Was Faschismus aber genau bedeutet, bleibt dabei oft unklar. Und auch, wie es dazu kommen kann, dass sich diese neuen faschistischen Bewegungen und Parteien in der Bevölkerung etablieren. Wie lässt sich das alles erklären? Leben wir heute schon im Faschismus? Und welche Interessen stecken hinter all dem?
Da wir uns an diesem Abend auch mit antifaschistischer Praxis auseinandersetzen wollen, zeigen wir im Anschluss die Dokumentation “ANTIFA – Schulter an Schulter, wo der Staat versagte” von Marco Heinig und Steffen Maurer (Produktion: leftvision). Diese beleuchtet die antifaschistische Bewegung im wiedervereinigten Deutschland nach 1989. Fünf Antifa-Aktivist:innen sprechen erstmals ausführlich über ihre Strategien, von militanten Aktionen bis hin zu investigativer Recherche, und gewähren tiefe Einblicke in eine politisch hochprofessionelle Bewegung. Der Film zeigt, wie die Antifa als Reaktion auf rassistische Pogrome der 90er- und 00er-Jahre entstand und welche Konflikte sie mit Staat und Gesellschaft auslöste. Archivmaterial und persönliche Erzählungen machen den Film zu einer intensiven Analyse des „Mythos Antifa“. Danach gibt es noch Raum für Austausch.

As we’ll also be addressing antifascist practices during this evening, we will follow the talk with a screening of the documentary “ANTIFA – Schulter an Schulter, wo der Staat versagte" by Marco Heinig and Stefan Maurer (production: leftvision). This documentary explores the antifascist movement in reunified Germany after 1989. For the first time, five Antifa activists speak in detail about their strategies – from militant actions to investigative research – offering deep insight into a politically highly professional movement. The film shows how Antifa emerged in response to the racist pogroms of the 1990s and 2000s, and the conflicts it sparked with the state and society. Archival footage and personal narratives turn this into a powerful analysis of the “Myth of Antifa.” Afterward, there will be time for discussion and exchange.
